The Business Register can be defined as the database of businesses with headquarters or local branches in Italy, as it contains all the official data on foundation, modification and closure.

It provides a full picture of the legal and economic situation of each business and is an essential tool for the analysis and economic development of the Country..

An institutional source guaranteed by law
Set up in 1996 it contains historic and up-to-date information on the 6 million Italian businesses and the 10 million entrepreneurs operating in the country. It constantly collects and updates information on over 1 million financial statements a year and 5 million PEC e-mails. The Business Register is a legal advertising tool that guarantees the timeliness of economic information and market transparency.
 

A unique archive divided into various parts
The Register is made up of an ordinary section, various special sections and other divisions, including: 1) Innovative start-ups and SMEs, which collects the data for start-ups and SMEs with innovative products and services, with a high technological value, with significant investments in research and development or which have filed industrial patents. 2) Network contracts, which collects the data for businesses with shared projects and goals, while retaining their own independence, autonomy and specialisation, in a form of co-operation that increases their ability to innovate and their market competitiveness.

Where is the data from the Business Register and the other Chambers of Commerce databases available?
It is possible to extract data and official documents such as reports, financial statements, protests, deeds and insolvency proceedings, officers and shareholders directly from Business Register. With the Italian Business Register it is also possible for foreign users to access the available outputs in English.
