Tradition and innovation are the fundamental values of InfoCamere.

Innovation is at the heart of the organisation's mission and is also its driving force, since it is only through constant technological progress that it has been able to consolidate its position over time as a facility trusted and relied upon by the Chambers of Commerce and Public Authorities.

Tradition is also key, because it is in the grounding of its roots and history that it finds the strength to approach the future with conviction and confidence.

It has come full circle in its development, on a path that has also involved the promotion of cultural events. Exhibitions, concerts and festivals reflect the wide variety of ways in which past and present culture interact with the organisation fostering their development.

This belief forms the foundation for InfoCamere's commitment to culture. Focusing particularly on young talent, the organisation has for years been involved in bringing new and promising artists to the attention of an ever growing public. In the past, this has been in the field of photographic art, in collaboration with the Fondazione Italiana della Fotografia di Torino, and currently it is in the field of music, in collaboration with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in support of the educational project "Opera Studio", and also in the field of contemporary art, as an institutional partner of the foundation Fondazione Maxxi.

We will take a look below at the main initiatives pursued by InfoCamere.

Italian photography for the works of art damaged by the earthquake in Emilia Romagna

InfoCamere wanted to contribute towards the collection of funds allocated to the restoration of works of art damaged by the earthquake that hit the region of Emilia Romagna in May of 2012. Our Company purchased the rights to publish some of the photographs donated by the artists who supported this charity initiative, and others belonging to the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena [Modena Savings Bank Foundation]-Photography Foundation.

These works were published in a portfolio which was attached to the 2012 financial statements of InfoCamere.

"Artists from around the globe responded to the appeal launched by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena immediately following the earthquake that hit Emilia Romagna in May 2012. Their donations made it possible to organize two auctions - the first on 27 June at the former Sant'Agostino Hospital and the second on 6 October at Palazzo Santa Margherita - whose proceeds, which totalled almost € 150 thousand, were allocated to the restoration of the works of art damaged by the earthquake. Both auctions were organized by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena and by the Civic Art Gallery of Modena, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Modena and Reggio Emilia."

Opera Studio CDs and DVDs

InfoCamere's commitment to culture, directed particularly towards young talent has for years contributed to bringing new and promising artists to the attention of an ever growing public.

Previously it was in the field of photographic art, and currently in the field of music, with InfoCamere having embarked on a collaboration with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in support of the educational project "Opera Studio".

The objective of the project is to safeguard what remains of the heritage of Opera and Bel Canto, by offering young singers the opportunity to complete every aspect of their professional training.
InfoCamere realised the importance of this initiative, and is assisting with developing it and bringing it to a wider public by promoting the recording of a number of concerts by the young artists within the Opera Studio project.

This gave rise to an InfoCamere collection, dedicated to making music available to a wider public.

Editorial Collection

Promoted by InfoCamere and produced by Edifir–Edizioni Firenze, the editorial collection "Lo sviluppo economico in Italia" (Economic Development in Italy) has looked at specific spheres such as industry, commerce, agriculture, crafts, cooperation, information technology and women in the workplace.

We thank the visitors, whose requests have made this initiative the success it is. Copies of the volumes are currently out of stock. As soon as the reprint takes place, it will be possible to request them free of charge.

Emigration - immigration (2011)
The mass emigration of Italian workers from the mid-nineteenth century, and the current, equally vast, phenomenon of immigration to our peninsula, starting in the 1970s, are the topics covered in this book, which is the latest in a collection designed to illustrate the environments in which economic development in Italy took place and the fundamental role played by the Chambers of Commerce, as the institutions bridging the gap between the political and administrative entities and the economic and productive interests carried and supported by such development.

Women in the workplace (2009)
In this work, the economic history of Italy is viewed primarily "from the female perspective", shedding light on the conditions of subordination and inequality that have characterised the presence of women in the workplace through the centuries. The intention was therefore to pay due tribute to a sphere - that of working women - the value of which is not always recognised, but without which history in general, and specifically the history of economic development, appears somewhat "opaque" and certainly incomplete.

Information Technology (2007)
Information technology - the sector in which InfoCamere operates - has a brief lifespan when compared to that of industry, which spans many centuries. Nevertheless, a historical approach is still required in order to understand it as a whole. Thus we need to understand the extreme importance of the role played by scientific thought, research activity and theoretical design in its development. We also need to understand the economic power, in particular, of a nation (the United States) that supported its arrival and enabled its staggering expansion and worldwide penetration in such a short space of time.

Cooperation (2004)
Along with the four previous books, this one makes up a kind of map covering the entire fields of expertise connected to the identity of the chamber institutions: Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture. The intention with this book was to examine the economic affairs of a particular class of business that not only cuts across the entire map, but in doing so lays claim to new and somewhat dialectic characteristics compared to the traditional business model - mutuality and solidarity between corporate groups.

L'agricoltura (2002)

Crafts (2000)
While it is industry and commerce that set the pace of the transformation of the national economies, crafts have always been tightly coupled to these activities. The relationship between crafts and industry was inextricable, at least until the final decades of the eighteenth century, whilst their relationship with commerce remains indispensable to this day. The history of Italian economic development, viewed in a new light in this book, demonstrates that crafts have always represented a kind of "connective tissue", facilitating, integrating and promoting the nation's productive growth.

Commerce (1998)
This book looks at an activity that - albeit at a less punishing pace than that set by technological advances - has marked and often guided the phases of the transformation of our economies, and especially the long, drawn out phases of the pre-industrial economies It is also a book on economic history, which follows the evolution of the institutions through the centuries, given that the mechanisms for exchange depend upon having shared and accepted rules as a basis for the environment of trust and certainty that are essential for the successful outcome of commercial dealings.

Industry (1996)
This is the first work in a collection undertaken with the purpose of illustrating the environments in which economic development in Italy took place and the fundamental role played by the Chambers of Commerce - from centuries past to the present day - as the institutions bridging the gap between the political and administrative entities and the economic and productive interests carried and supported by such development. As the indisputable protagonist of the transformations that have shaped the modern world, industry was the obvious starting point for our journey.

From 1997 to 2006, InfoCamere published a series of corporate books including photographs taken specifically for that purpose, inspired by a different theme every year.
Developed in accordance with their own particular view point, these themes have been regarded as among the most promising and attractive by young photographers, for whom InfoCamere wants to provide a place where they can experiment and showcase their skills.
